A Community That Grows Together
A Community That Grows Together
In our mixed‑age Montessori environment, children learn at their own pace, guided by curiosity, supported by community, and empowered by purposeful work. The 3–6 classroom is the heart of Montessori education. Children stay with the same teachers for three years, forming deep relationships and a strong sense of belonging.
• Younger children learn by observing older peers
• Older children develop leadership, empathy, and mastery
• Every child progresses at their own rhythm, without comparison or pressure
This continuity creates a joyful, confident learner who feels seen, supported, and capable.
A Prepared Environment for Deep Learning
Our classrooms are intentionally designed to meet the developmental needs of the 3–6‑year‑old child. Materials are beautiful, precise, and self‑correcting, inviting children to explore independently.
The environment supports:
• Concentration and focus
• Order and responsibility
• Freedom within clear boundaries
• Hands‑on exploration across all areas of learning
Children choose purposeful lessons and stay with them as long as they need, building intrinsic motivation, confidence, and sustained focus.
The Montessori Curriculum (3–6 Years)
Practical Life
Crefully planned lessons on motor development, care of self, care of the environment, food preparation, grace and courtesy, and peace education help children become independent and confident in their daily living activities.
Sensorial
Children learn best through multi-sensory experiences. Sensorial lessons in a Montessori environment help a child in the development and refinement of their senses. These activities, including sorting, sequencing, and organizing, also help develop critical reasoning skills and prepare the mind for math, language, and scientific thinking.
Language
From spoken language to sandpaper letters, movable alphabet, and early reading and writing, children progress naturally through the stages of literacy.
Mathematics
Hands‑on materials introduce quantity, symbols, place value, and operations, allowing children to understand math concretely before abstraction.
Cultural Studies
Geography, botany, zoology, history, and science experiments spark wonder and connect children to the wider world.
Art & Music
Weekly Music lessons with our experienced Music and Movement educator and daily opportunities for creativity, expression, rhythm, and beauty.
Social‑Emotional Growth in Community
Mixed‑age classrooms naturally support social development.
Children learn to:
• Resolve conflicts respectfully
• Communicate needs and feelings
• Practice empathy and patience
• Care for their environment and community
Grace and courtesy lessons help children navigate the world with kindness and confidence.
Authentic Partnership With Families
We believe education is strongest when home and school work together.
Families receive:
• Regular communication and progress updates
• Opportunities to observe the classroom
• Guidance on supporting independence at home
• Celebrations of each child’s unique journey
Together, we nurture the whole child.
Kindergarten — The Capstone Year
A 5–6‑year‑old deeply focused on advanced work.
The third year - the Kindergarten year - is when the full picture comes together.
Children who have spent two years exploring, absorbing, and practicing now step into leadership and mastery.
They:
• Take on advanced, multi‑step academic work in all subject areas
• Mentor younger peers and model peaceful conflict resolution and community-building skills
• Develop strong executive functioning skills and a growth mindset
• Experience the joy of reading, writing, and mathematical reasoning
• Build confidence and a deep love of learning that carries into elementary school and beyond
This year is not a repeat of preschool; it is the culmination of the entire three‑year cycle, similar to the completion of a complex mosaic masterpiece!
